A large part of the success of the Catalina Island Museum`s inaugural Holiday Symphony Concert was the Stanford Symphony Orchestra`s Assistant Conductor, Anna Wittstruck. She returns to the Avalon Casino with the orchestra on Friday, Dec. 12th.
This year`s program, A Very Mozart Christmas, will feature the distinguished Stanford Symphony Orchestra performing three of Mozartís famous compositions, including Symphony no. 29 in A major, Exsultate, Jubilate, and Violin Concerto no. 5 in A major
Richard Kaufman is known for his immense talent and passion for film music. He wowed the crowd last year and looks forward to returning to the Avalon Casino Theatre for the Catalina Island Museum`s 2015 Silent Film Benefit.
The museum`s new home will feature an outdoor amphitheater on the hillside at the back of the building`s second floor. It is expected to become the center of Avalon`s entertainment scene when it opens in 2015.
Since its opening, the "Chaplin and Goddard" exhibition has welcomed over 20,000 people - including nearly 2,000 children, ages 15 and under, who experienced the exhibition at no charge thanks to a generous donation from Blanny Avalon Hagenah.
Anna Wittstruck will return to conduct an ensemble of the prestigious Stanford Symphony Orchestra and a special guest from the San Francisco Symphony, violin soloist Chen Zhao for the 2nd Annual Holiday Symphony Concert.
