Big Draw - "Kelping" Climate Change

Thanks to all who participated!! With your help we've created a kelp forest in our lobby!

The 2020 International Big Draw event theme was A Climate of Change. Our island's sea life is so unique and it relies heavily on the strength of our kelp forests. Plus they offer such a beautiful underwater experience for divers and snorkelers alike. With that theme in mind, we set out to bring awareness to the importance of our local kelp forests by creating one at the museum. All ages were encouraged to take part and we are thrilled to say we received submissions from as far away as Florida!!

Here are photos of the finished kelp forest in our lobby. Next time you are on the island, be sure to stop by and check it out!
