"Oldest Los Angeles" Book Signing with Mimi Slawoff

Join us in the Hinchliffe Family Atrium for a brief talk by author Mimi Slawoff followed by a book signing of  her new book Oldest Los Angeles.

While Los Angeles is known for beaches, film studios and a sunny climate, it’s worth digging deeper to discover the city’s soul created by an ethnically diverse culture dating to the 18th century. Blending history and some local travel, Oldest Los Angeles takes readers on a journey through the past to the oldest buildings, businesses, and neighborhoods in the City of Angels.

Though not in the city of Los Angeles, the book also includes a chapter dedicated to Catalina Island highlighting not only some of its oldest buildings, but also some fun historical island facts.

A Native Angeleno and seasoned travel journalist, Slawoff is a former Los Angeles Daily News reporter who writes for AAA, Travel + Leisure, L.A. Parent magazine, TravelingMom, and many other print and digital publications.

This event is free to the public. Non-alcoholic refreshments are included.

If you wish to also visit the museum's galleries, an admission ticket must be purchased.
