These collections support the museum's mission to collect, preserve, and promote the culture and history of the island and to bring unique exhibitions to Catalina. The collection features Hollywood and Chicago Cubs memorabilia, a comprehensive survey of Catalina pottery and tile, over 10,000 photographs, negatives, and films documenting island life from the early 1880s to the present, sport fishing items, and artifacts from the island's unique communication and transportation history. The museum also houses one of the largest collections of Tongva and Gabrielino artifacts. The fine art collection includes photography, plein air painting, contemporary sculpture, architectural and graphic design, and much more.
