Donate to the Catalina Island Museum
We are celebrating the legacy of Mr. William Wrigley Jr.’s acquisition of the Santa Catalina Island Company in 1919, and continue to be inspired by his vision of what this “Magic Isle” could be. In 1953, William’s son Philip K. Wrigley joined the effort to establish a museum on the island, concerned that much of Catalina’s heritage was being lost and little being done to satisfy the many visitors who were curious to learn more about the history. The establishment of a museum bringing art and culture to the island also fulfilled the desire of his father who wished to provide a “playground” where people from every walk of life could seek new experiences and enjoy one of America’s most beautiful islands.
Sixty-six years later we find ourselves living the Wrigley dream and enjoying the museum’s new home, the three-year-old Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Building, named after William’s granddaughter. This year, as we honor the Wrigley family legacy, we ask that you join us in our commitment to not only share the island’s rich history and culture, but to now “make history” with the Catalina Island Museum moving forward!
Help us in our mission to collect, preserve and promote the culture and history of Santa Catalina Island and to bring unique exhibitions to our shores, by giving to the Annual Appeal this year.
