Travel with the Catalina Island Museum
Travel with CIM 2019
In August 2019 a group from of Catalina Island Museum board members and Patrons Society members traveled to Chicago to experience "Wrigley's Chicago" during a 4 day trip.
In honor of the 1919-2019 centennial celebration of William Wrigley Jr.'s purchase of the Santa Catalina Island Company, the Travel with CIM group experienced Chicago like never before. "Wrigley's Chicago" took us behind-the-scenes at Wrigley Field (including the new Catalina Club), the Field Museum and the Chicago History Museum. We watched the Chicago Cubs play a night game from the Rooftop Club at Wrigley Field, took a bus tour of Chicago to see the Wrigley Building, homes, former factory and more. Great food, music, landmarks, special speakers and more were enjoyed by the entire group. Every facet of the trip had a special connection to the Wrigley family legacy and Catalina Island.
Each year, we offer a unique opportunity to Travel with the Catalina Island Museum to explore art, culture and even Catalina's connection to other parts of the country and the world. If you are interested in future opportunities to travel with the museum, you are encouraged to join its Patrons Society. Click here for more information.
Travel with CIM 2018
In early March 2018, a group from the Catalina Island Museum explored the lasting legacy of the Wrigley family and Catalina beyond the island.
The group traveled to Phoenix for Spring Training with the Chicago Cubs, a stay at the historic Arizona Biltmore Hotel, dinner in the Wrigley Mansion with the great-grandson of William Wrigley Jr., a tour of Sloan Park (the Cubs winter home in Mesa, AZ), and a catered lunch while watching the Chicago Cubs play the Cincinnati Reds. Below are photographs of the trip.
Additional Travel with the Catalina Island Museum trips are being planned, including a trip to Chicago to take in a Cubs game from the Catalina Club at Wrigley Field – set to open for the 2019 season.
